Even if we had Youtube BB code, I'd probably load it right on a new tab. I don't like the ads on Youtube BB.

What do you mean? Noone actually knows when new products will be released but we can often suspect certain things, about what system are you talking about? Also, the refurb store has some pretty good deals and it won't be a waste of money imo to buy something from the refurb store.
I have changed my mind sooo many times now about what to buy. But I see they are selling some good stuff on the Apple refurb store. If I don't buy right now, when will new products make it back on Apple's page? Thanks

I am planning to Switch (upgrade) from PC to Mac but I still need to run some PC programs.
The only thing I hear about Virtual PC is that its terrible slow.
I am planning to put 2 Gigas of ram on my new Imac 20".
1 giga dedicated to the Virtual PC.
Does anybody has an experience if by doing this I should see a lot of performace Gain on Virtual PC?
Iam not planning to run games just normal applications (some design an graphics) but I need to run them on PC envieroment to ensure compatibility.
Thanks in advance for advice.
What graphics programs do you need to run on the PC side? Chances are it's something that requires a lot of power - meaning it's probably going to be ridiculously slow.
My guess is that you'll be better off designing in OS X. Then you can test the file (or whatever you need to do) in Virtual PC to ensure compatibility.

For those who are expressing confusion, here's a cleaned-up version:
I was supposed to trade this to another member, but the member never shipped his phone as agreed; he just printed a label and never shipped his phone. Luckily, I was able to have mine sent back to me.
Therefore, I am looking to trade this phone for a unlocked 4GB iPhone. Your phone must work on T-Mobile. I have tons of refs here and have sold over 100 items....
Please PM me if you want to trade, I really need it. I also do not use MP3s or play videos so a 4GB model is all I need. :)
You will also get the 100.00 rebate....
Not trying to be a smart-aleck, honestly, just trying to help (plus, I was in an editing mood :)).

I just got my hands on a Power Mac G5. I got it off a guy for $150!! Let me say, it's an incredible machine. Dual 2.5 G5's with 2Gig of RAM. I installed 10.5.8 on it.
This machine blows both my 2009 13" Macbook and 2008 Mini out of the water when it comes to speed and smoothness. As is it, FCP runs so much better than my Intel Macs that I am in total Awww of it... (can u tell I'm excited about this 6 year old computer :) )
Since I got it so cheap, I want to upgrade the hell out of it and use it as my primary machine (age of it be damned). I want to expand the RAM fully to 16 GB, put a fast 2 GB HDD in, and get the best possible Video card available.
I have 2 questions:
1. What is the best GPU available for this machine??
2. What is everyone's opinion to the possibility that after I get this thing where I want it, Apple will drop support for Leopard and I will no longer be able to sync my iPhone, iPad, or iPods to it. I of course, Plan to keep my Intel Macs running on the other end of the room (along with my "necessary" PC) but since I sit in THIS chair in my office most of the time, it would be nice to do everything from right here...
I know you don't hear many people wanting to make an older machine their primary computer, but this thing is really a monster...
Any thoughts???? Thanks in Advance.
Al Winters
Wait a minute, when you say you have a Dual 2.5 G5 and wish to expand it to 16GB - Are you sure you have the Late 2004 Dual 2.5 G5 which is notorious for springing leaks, or do you have the G5 Quad which is from October 2005 - Summer of 2006?
G5 Quad can be expanded all the way to 16GB and possibly more now that 4GB chips are available in DDR2.

Edit for comparison's sake to current desktop tech:
Used the PPD calc here: http://linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php
i7-2600k @ 4.4ghz
p6060
TPF: ~2 min 5 sec
PPD: 31026
Then, later:
i7-2600k @ 4.5ghz
p6900 (core a5)
TPF: ~26 min 0 sec
PPD: 46454
Very very happy with this new machine. I've name it Atlas. Seemed fitting.

While the HTML is valid, the CSS doesn't seem to be.
W3C CSS Validator results (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.myelixr.com%2F&usermedium=all)
Two errors, but it's way to early/late for me try to make any sense of it...

Hey guys!
Well, I've been a long-time reader of the forums, but I haven't done hardly any posting as of yet. I decided that it was finally my turn to post up a review of a case that I just got for my iPod Touch 4.
Now, this is my very first review, so please feel free to ask all the questions that you would like, and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge.
Also, I am at work now so I can't include photos, but I will make sure to add them into this original post as soon as I get home.
So, the case that I purchased was the "Melkco Leather case for Apple iPod Touch 4th" sold by carrymobile.com (link here (http://www.carrymobile.com/scripts/main/viewitem-A1ITO4LCFT1BK-ITO4.html))
Pros: I really love everything about this case! Specifically:
-It feels really durable. I feel like I could throw this thing accross the room and it would be fine
-The magnetic-snap is very good quality, I don't feel like it would ever come undone without me deliberately opening it
-The ports are open, so you can charge it, plug in headphones, hear the speaker, and record voice with no issue (I have tested these)
-It looks super sexy! I love the leather with white stitching, I think it looks fantastic. It's not too bulky, but enough padding that my iPod feels protected
-Design: I'm not sure if it was planned like this, but you can fold back the front cover all the way back and snap it again, and there is enough of a gap there that I can slide my 4-fingers up to almost my palm, and the iPod stays with no fear of it slipping. I do the same when it is in landscape mode (for playing games, for example). I don't feel like I have to grip it, it feels like it just molds to my hand. I will attach pics later on with exactly what I'm talking about.
Cons:
-This is a very small issue, but you cannot charge it while it is snapped shut. I recognized this before I even purchased the product, and it doesn't bother me at all, as the flap still stays down, but it must be unsnapped
-The cameras are just a little bit blocked. The hole on the front (for the Facetime camera) is just a LITTLE bit too low, so you get a black shadow on the top of your pictures unless you really tug the case up or push the iPod down
-The same issue on the back, only this time the case itself kind of gets in the way, unless you raise up the iPod just a bit
Again, with these two issues, I was prepared to deal with this, as I do not use my iPod very much for taking pictures.
-The only other con was the belt clip. Everything about this case feels top-notch, except the belt clip. It felt very cheap, plasticy, and I did not want to use it. The thumb depresor does not work well, and I even had the part attached to my iPod just fall out (after I screwed it in tight) and my iPod fell to the ground. I have not used it since then.
Well, I'm sorry if this is too long or too short! Please, ask questions, and I will post any pictures up as soon as I get home (1:30 am EST)

I am looking at purchasing a 160GB (Lacie) external drive. I have a 12" iBook with 30GB of storage (only 600MB available). I need a place to backup my hard drive and store these video files of astronomical size. Is there a difference between the d2 and Porsche designs?
- auto shutoff?
- easy syncing?
-noise?
Thanks.

Getting to the point, for video cards try lowendmac.com they have forums dedicated to ppc and I'm sure they have all the different and best cards available for your g5.
It's actually a group and not a typical forum, but it has hundreds of helpful members. Here's the link (http://lowendmac.com/lists/g-list.shtml) to a page about it, and the link (http://groups.google.com/group/g3-5-list?pli=1) to the actual google group.

I generally advise people to avoid having their camera gear on a homeowner's rider anyway- the last thing you want is the HO insurance canceled because of a claim. Talk to any licensed insurance agent- Traveller's has a nice "personal professional property" policy, or just ask about an "inland marine" policy for your gear.

What program is that? And yes, I'm also noticing better (i.e. less accelerated) mouse movement in Lion (using Magic Mouse).
By no problem, do you mean that you feel no difference between 10.6 an 10.7?
Well the cursor is not as fast as in Windows, but it's managable.
It means that the cursor movement is not linear to the mouse movement. Google it and you will see that it's a huge issue for people that want to game on their Macs, especially for Windows switchers that are not used to it. The worst part is that there is no setting in OS X to remove it.
Here are two images that illustrate it (from a 3rd party software that removes the acceleration)

There is no way to change the graphics chip on ANY iMac. They are all soldered to the logic board.
More RAM + faster harddrive is about all you can do.
I specifically remember them saying they replaced the graphics card on my DV SE G3 500 iMac when i had it repaired under warranty years ago, now if that means it can be upgraded i doubt it, but from the way it sounded was like it was a seperate card and not part of the logic board.
